This case study is an oldie, but a goodie. It comes from long-time client (and a fellow trade-show exhibitor) Dustin Matthews, the co-Founder and former CEO at the Seven Figure Speaking Empire.

The first thing to note is they did NOT mail the pill bottle. It was included in the attendee bag at the conference and they handed them out in the vendor exhibit hall as well. Instead of having the same brochure with the same boring sales material, they decided to stand out by handing out the pill bottle to people passing by.

This is a technique we talk about and encourage you to do. Get creative with your marketing efforts. Use this stuff for more than just mailing to prospects or clients. Make it a permanent part of your marketing funnel and follow-up. Hand them out at street fairs and other events you attend.
One of our most successful clients is a chiropractor who hands out these same pill bottles at events where he has a booth or sponsor area. There are many conferences and boot camps just like the GKIC Super Conference throughout the country. While it may seem easy on the outside, putting ‘butts in seats’ at a live event can be a very costly and time consuming exercise. To get over 1,000 people in one room is a small miracle.
As a vendor at an event like this, you now have a great venue to sell your products or services. However, just picking off those who walk by your booth and speaking with them one-on-one may not be the best use of your time (or your prospects).
We’ve found that if you host an “event within the event” you can get dozens, if not hundreds of your ideal prospect all in one place, to deliver your sales message en mass. This is exactly what Dustin is doing, selling one-to-many vs. one-on-one, which is a much better use of his time and resources.
As I mentioned above, we did the exact same thing at this same event. We re-launched Keith’s info-product, “The Make You Happy Management System,” where we did over $60,000 in business in just 75 minutes. Needless to say, it was an extremely profitable 75 minutes.
